About Zion Market

Located at 8330 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111, Zion Market operates as an asian grocery store serving San Diego in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian grocery store, supermarket, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 9 amβ9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Zion Market at (858) 298-9722; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is zionmarket.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 5,757 reviews, which is a strong result for an asian grocery store in San Diego and suggests consistent service.
San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Loved my first visit to the new Zion Market location! Even though itβs smaller than the original and missing some of the old restaurants, they really nailed the setup. The grocery department offers an incredible selection, and the beauty shops are clean and organized. A special shoutout to the lovely lady in the beauty department who helped me with my serumβshe was wonderful!

We were visiting San Diego for vacation time. My daighter, a K-Pop fan, wanted to check this market out. It was not what I expected. Large, Clean, and full of everything Korean for your taste buds and item collector. They had small stores for collectors, and a large market for groceries. You could get everything here, including a haircut, bidet, and possibly prescription glasses. It looked like a K-Pop gift shop and a Target had a child, and it grew up to be famous. Check it out if you are near one, even if you aren't a k-pop fan. The groceries seemed up to date, well managed, and plentiful. Like I said, at least go once to check it out, then decide for yourself. Everyone was kind and informative. They knew how to treat us even if we weren't Korean.

For anyone who shops at Zion Market, please be careful in their parking lot. In my opinion, the layout is poorly designed and can be dangerous for both drivers and vehicles. There is a shopping cart return structure placed right near the driveway, combined with a tree and parked cars that block visibility when making a right turn. While turning, my car hit the structure and ended up with a dent that will cost about $2,000 to repair. When I spoke with the manager, I was told, βThis is not our problem,β and that it had βnever happened before.β I wanted to share my experience so others can be aware and avoid the same situation. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be shopping at this store again.

A well stocked asian supermarket that is clean and easy to access with freeways closeby. Many exotic fruits and veggies as well as Asian snacks and seafood. Some small specialty vendors at the same location. See picture attached. One is a snack I loved when in Japan and the other is a store dedicated to all you "CUCKOO" people!

This location is newer and much smaller than the old one, but you can still find what you need. Parking can be a little confusing, especially with the construction zones around. I come here often. Some items are a bit pricey, but I always find fresh vegetables and fruit. This time I was excited to find the viral ice cream fruit baskets. I had checked other Asian markets before this and none of them had them. The cashier was also super sweet and accommodating- she even gave me a free box instead of a bag.
